I spent them with my grandchildren. I was out of pocket but have caught back up. Relax everybody. They will get this done. The process seems slow to us but its rocket speed to the Iraqis. The POP has been approved by the majority of the blocks. He is Jubouri. Also it appears there is now agreement on the POP deputies. The President will be the right hand man of Barzini, Salih. His deputies are also now on the board. There has been no voting yet because the Sunday session was postponed 48 hours due to the Erbil airport being shut in with a sand storm. The Kurdish MPs could not get to the Sunday session on time so Hafez postponed the meeting until Tuesday, our tomorrow night. It is rumored the SOL may have finally decided to un-nominate Maliki and nominate a candidate acceptable to everyone. At least there are leaks coming out of the meetings indicating this. We will see if thats true and if so, then were are very close indeed. Everyone intended to be there at this session which is the best news. Shia, Sunni and Kurds, all intended to show. The Kurds being absent (71 MPs) would have upset the coalition balance again so they postponed the meeting 48 hours to make sure everyone was there. All the rest of the Sunnis who were not sworn in on the first meeting, were sworn in. So all MPs have now taken the oath of office. Hopefully things will start to happen now. This will get done this month so just relax. Dont live or die on each meeting or hang on every article. This is and has been a difficult process but it will soon be over. The biggest hold-up has been that the coalition has been trying to bust the SOL so that they too will go along, which will make this process smoother. It is a complete reversal of a month ago when the it was the SOL and Maliki that were trying to bust the coalition. That has proven to be impossible which meant that the SOL and Maliki could not win. The coalition has been whittling away at the SOLs membership along with assistance from al-Sistani and every country in the world including Iran. The mantra has remained the same. Dump Maliki. There are leaks from within the SOL that seem to confirm this has finally been achieved. But we will have to be patient to see how far they have really come until tomorrow night. Dont stress every time they meet or are supposed to meet.
