To Sean Michael Puleo, I knew your Grandpa was ill, but Im sorry I wasnt there to pay my respects to the patriarch of the Puleo Family. Your Dad, John was/is one of the good guys. That one in a Billion. He was our own James Dean, Pacino, DeNiro, Brando, Eastwood, Dennis Hopper, Sean Connery, Steve McQueen and the Fonz. He probably said How YOU doin While Joey from Friends was in grade school. He was that cool, and cooler. Maybe the coolest. John Wayne had swagger. So did John Puleo and I see that reflecting in you. Ive had 5 minutes of banter with him that was deeper/funnier than many hour long conversations. He was funny. John Belushi, George Carlin, Cosby, Groucho, and The Three Stooges (combined into one Stooge). Seeing this picture of you bout dropped me to my knees. Im sure he is so proud of you. I wasnt one of Johns best friends, but he had my back. He had all of his friends back. When I look at you I see him. When I read your words I hear him. He is probably the first of my buds that I told I love you to. He was pretty sick then and told me to quit cryin like a baby. He said Im the one dying, you stop the cryin. Grace under pressure, personified. Normally following in some big foot steps of your Father and now Grand Father is a daunting task. For you, I believe, have already achieved enough to be considered a GREAT Puleo. May God keep on blessing you. And thank you for your service and the sacrifices youve made for our country. I guess the blame for your awesomeness falls on your beautiful Mother, Darlene Fischer. In truth, she made you the man you are today not the Marines. Thank her for me. She did a GREAT job.
