To Secretary of State John Kerry, we have one suggestion: Give it up. The Massachusetts Democrat, whose job is to be the presidents top foreign affairs adviser, has decided hed rather be a weatherman. Yet again he has taken to shrieking hysterically about global warming, as he did Sunday when he said climate change is one enormous cloud hanging over all of us. Is he thinking mushroom cloud? Because almost a year ago Kerry called climate change the worlds largest weapon of mass destruction, perhaps even the worlds most fearsome weapon of mass destruction. Kerry followed up that whopper by telling graduating Boston College students in May that if we dont do something about climate change, we are risking nothing less than the future of the entire planet. But its all a part of what weve come to expect from an effete Secretary of State who in his first foreign policy speech in that position railed about climate change. Actually, we have a second suggestion for the secretary: Please look again, because that cloud isnt climate change, its a lack of seriousness among policymakers and idea shapers. Too many believe in the imaginary threat of man-made climate change, thinking that it provides them moral superiority and intellectual weight. Truth is, it makes them look silly, like high schoolers trying too hard to be cool, rather than the deep thinkers they want to be recognized as. Dont they know that the world hasnt warmed in 18 years? Thanks, by the way, to the Weekly Standard for bringing one more Kerry blunder to our attention.
