To all Christian Brethren.... I wish to share with you in a modified way the words our grandfather,the Premier of the defunct Northern Nigerian Shared with Christians on the Christmas Day of 1959 Here in Nigeria and in UMMESA we have people of many different extractions,ethnicity and religions who are knit together to common history,common interest and common ideas;the things that unite us are stronger than the things that divide us. I always remind people of our firmly rooted policy of religious tolerance. We have no intention of favouring one religion at the expense of another. Subject to the overriding need to preserve law and order,it is our determination that everyone should have absolute liberty to practice their belief according to the dictates of their conscience... Fellow colleagues a time like this we should not give room to goons in the two major political parties in our country to shatter our peaceful coexistence. Fellow colleagues We should not give room for acrimony and should understand our differences and pray for the extermination of the forces impinging on our very survival. My fellow colleagues let the blessings of this blessed day in your faith reflect in turning the misfortunes of the past of our dear country into the greatest benefits of the future... Cheers!!!
