To all my Pomona Pilgrim Congregational friends! I invite you to listen to this most amazing song, while reading about my memory of a great night, a long time ago, with my Pilgrim friends, and my Mom and Dad...enjoy! I dont know how many of you remember my sister and I, having a party at our house, in Covina, CA...way back, when we were in our twenties! (well, most of us were! ) Well, there was lots of music that night as usual, and at one point in the evening, my Mom and Dad joined us...and with some urging from us all, they danced together, in our kitchen (!), to Glenn Millers, In the Mood. I will always remember that moment...all of my bestest friends with me...and my folks were cutting a rug (is that the right phrase?) to that most amazing song! And they were pretty darn good!...my Dad had his own style of jitterbugging, and my Mom had learned to keep up with him! There are even two times, when the music stops for a few beats (more than a few, really), and my folks just kept right on dancing...because they had danced to it so many times before! . I was very proud to be their daughter that night (and most days and nights, actually)...they did themselves proud...and Glenn Miller! So, whatever shape my Dad is in right now, truly matters not, to me...because, in my heart, he will always be jitterbugging with my Mom!!
