To all my great friends from Canada (and across the globe), I wish - TopicsExpress

To all my great friends from Canada (and across the globe), I wish you a wonderful Canadian Thanksgiving. It has been over a year since I left Canada, however, I will never forget all the wonderful people who I have been honored to meet in my 7 years in Canada. I may not have been the best at keeping in touch since leaving, as I have had a very busy year dedicated to taking care of family, in particular my Grandmother who passed away earlier this year, RIP. After my grandmother passed away, I was torn between moving back to Europe, moving to Hawaii, or staying in Mexico. I was torn between attending university or finally going full force with building my dream business... After having posted a question on Facebook posing the question of where to move to next, and whether to study or go the entrepreneurship route. Much to my surprise friends from all over the world wanted to get involved with my business idea. Friends from Denmark which I had hardly spoken with since leaving Denmark in 2006 started asking how they could help, how they could get involved. On the topic of being thankful. I have to say that I am humbled beyond belief that after a 4 year thought project and countless prototypes, and almost giving up the dream several times... I was finally able to create an incredible company and an incredible team in a few short months. It goes to show that the moment you commit to something 100% and ignore all the naysayers, your wildest dreams suddenly become possible. Best of all, I have been able to build this company together with people who I greatly admire and who I also consider some of my best friends. In 3 weeks from now, Daniel Nielsen Steffen Duus and Steve A Boutilier are joining me in Dublin to launch our product for the entire world, at a conference with over 20000 people from over 100 countries, including many of the worlds best CEOs, Investors and Journalists. Not only that, around January team members from across the world will start moving to Mexico to join our project... leaving everything behind. I cannot thank my family and friends enough for all the support and trust they have put in me. Being a start up founder is by no means easy, especially while bootstrapping. However, when you have such a dedicated team of talented and motivated people from across 3 continents working with you, and support from friends and family from across the globe, it makes you realize that the challenges are worth it... and together we can change the world. So to all my Facebook friends reading this, even the ones who I have not spoken with in years. Thank you. Whether you realize it or not, your status updates make me smile everyday, both the good and the bad Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Every single person who is still on my Facebook friends list is incredible.
