To be able to help others is the greatest gift in this world. My husband and I would like to thank all of you for the amazing support we received from you for our 9 year old Rebeccas food drive and six year olds sock drive. The food drive and sock drive was a true success. Rebecca set out to fill a van…and accomplished that because of you. My 6 year old wanted the poor people to have warm feet….and he received close to 3000 + socks. I would like to begin by saying thank you to our friend Kenny…who helped me plan all of the food drives and helped my husband for close to 8 hours load and unload the van. I would like to thank Safety swim in Coram “RACHEL” and her staff for not only donating a second van…but making all of the deliveries with us. Rachel LeGrady you are an amazing woman!! Safety swim joined together with all of their locations to donate to this worthy cause. Jill Smith Pryor WE LOVE YOU. You were so inspirational to let the community know about this project. Leigh Ross Husband thank you for taking an interest in our son. Your hard efforts in the community was successful and the sock drive was beyond successful. To all her friends who stopped in to help Rebecca..or called or texted me to say hello and ask how we were doing, we greatly appreciate that. To her Brownie Troop 1107 for their donations and inspiring her to do more. Another big thank you to her friends Julianna and Sophia ( Donna Vitale who attended every one of her many food drives….who stood out in the cold freezing and never complained, who graciously gave up their gloves for me and my daughter when we stood there in the cold. My daughter is lucky to have you all as friends. TO Mather hospital… From the nurses, aides, therapists, social workers, PA , secretaries…..WOW!!!! The donations just kept coming. MiDDLE COUNTRY MOTHERS YOU all pulled together. I can’t thank you enough for all your donations. To all of our facebook friends… our family…Becca’s teachers, all her friends from school, our friends, her godmother and godfather as well as my sisters and brothers, Laurie for being a donation sight… THANK YOU. And to my husband Joey Hernandez thank you for always believing and supporting our children. Thank you for all your hard work, lifting and organizing thousands and thousands of cans to make things nice for the deliveries. Hope I didn’t forget anyone. I wanted to let you all know where your generous donations went. On Wednesday, we delivered generous amounts of food and socks to the boys at the HOPE HOUSE MINISTERIES IN PORT JEFFERSON, to the clients at the PAX CHRISTY shelter , to the pantry at ST FRANCIS OF CABRINI, to the pantry at ST GERARD’s, to the pantry at ST Margarets, AND THE FOOD PANTRY IN MIDDLE ISLAND. Food drive expanded and we delivered privately to 30 FAMILIES in the community found through the mothers middle country moms who stepped forward and asked for help. Your food, money donations, socks, gift cards, helped feed over 1000 + people. We are overwhelmed and humbled by this project. Know this holiday season…..that you…YES YOU helped many people this season. Thank you all for following our children. As parents we are so grateful. We are in the process of doing many outreach projects…and plan on doing this project again in the upcoming months. For now know in your hearts that yes ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. One person can reach thousands of people. Know that my six year old son with autism is beaming from eye to eye. You have all helped him to realize that he can accomplish great things.
