To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything He - TopicsExpress

To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything He has given us - and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him. ― Thomas Merton Giving thanks for the Lords mercy and grace! Roberts doctor appointment on Monday went very well. As Dr. Williams was doing the ultrasound prior to administering the second injection into the liver tumor, he commented that the tumor already seemed to be changing in shape/density/consistency - after just one ablation and one injection. We are hopeful that this is a positive response to this new experimental immunology treatment. He shared with us the amazing story of a woman who happened to be in the clinic that day. When she started on this immunology treatment, she had 29 lung tumors and 6 small tumors on her brain. In only 8 weeks of treatment, she has experienced an incredible response - only 1 small lung nodule left - all the other tumors are gone. We rejoiced in her good news and praised God for the healing. Our Lord sure works in MIGHTY ways and we feel very blessed to be in the hands of Dr. Williams! He also confirmed that Robert will need a second ablation on his liver to completely debulk the tumor and to continue stimulating a systemic immune response to treat the other smaller tumors in his lungs and lymph nodes. So, we will be back in Pensacola, FL at the wonderful Baptist Hospital in two weeks, and he will continue with the intra-tumoral injections every two weeks as well. Its such a blessing to see Robert feeling better with this treatment - more energy, less pain, walking around the house - and especially tonight - he is talking, talking, talking - if you need someone to talk to, he is happy to call and chat! lol This afternoon, he enjoyed bible study at our house with the guys, while I ran errands and hit the hair salon! I cannot even express how much JOY I have in my heart to see him improving every day - as I rejoice and give God all the glory! I apologize that I cannot remember who to credit with this quote, but its one that I have come to strongly embrace - I find joy in every day, not because life is always good, but because God is. Our hearts are completely filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who lift us up each day by so graciously including us in your prayers, by continuing to email, text and call to check in on us, by the kindness you show to us as well as our families, and by simply being there for us. They say it takes a village to raise a child, so what does it take to beat cancer? An Army of Prayer Warriors! Thank you for being our army of hope!
