To coincide with International Volunteering Day, our new film - TopicsExpress

To coincide with International Volunteering Day, our new film “Stories from the Woods” is being premiered in New Delhi! We are celebrating the day by teaming up with France Volontaires to hold a ceremony celebrating the incredible contribution made by women community volunteers. “Stories from the Woods” shows the invaluable contribution made by women community volunteers working at grass root level across the states of Odisha and Jharkhand. These women, despite being largely unpaid and from marginalised communities, display an unshakeable will to catalyse change in their own communities. Kunti Bhoi is one of these women, working as a health volunteer in her village in Odisha and was inspired to change the fate of her community after her brother died from malaria at a young age. Kunti received training from MASS and Skillshare International and now spreads awareness in her village about preventable disease and infant health. In doing so, she has saved the lives of many women and children. When asked about volunteering she said: “I don’t get paid for my work, but my work makes my village a better place. What would money bring me anyway? I receive respect which brings me happiness”. If you want to celebrate the day by screening the film at home, you can find the full video here: https://youtube/watch?v=OtHynx44sYM
