To hope is simply to expect. To faith is simply to act in line or tangent to your expectations,e.g; if you expect to get to lekki, a suburb in Lagos, Nigeria, youll take a cab, but if you expect to get to New York, youll take a flight-thats faith. Only a fool (or a man inspired), expects to be the president of a country by playing ludo or checkers. To be STILL, waiting on GOD is not the same as to be IDLE, doing nothing. When GOD tells you to wait, HE is asking you to act in line to what youre expecting. To be STILL is not to go and watch football while Boko Haram is brutalising your brothers and sisters in the North, acting like it doesnt concern you. Thats akin to expecting to get to New York by trekking. A lot of us pray without continuing in prayers. To continue in prayers is to remain committed to the cause, even after we have stopped actual praying. Should you not watch your favourite sport again until Boko Haram is brought down? ........I sincerely cannot ask that of you. But it isnt unheard of for men to deprive themselves of their favourite indulgence until they get result in certain other areas of their expectations. Remember how some Jews took an oath that they would not eat or drink until Paul is dead? Remember also how Elijah didnt stop to pray until it rained? Remember also how Paul never got married because he must evangelise the world for Jesus? To continue in prayer is not faithlessness, that is exactly what faith is. Remember how David fasted and prayed for his son not to die, but as soon as his son was declared dead, seeing he has gotten his answer, David stopped praying and simply moved on. Some things would not go without fasting and prayers. You cant give the same commitment you give in prayers to a headache, to a scourge like Boko Haram. Thats like riding okada (a motor bike) to China. Faith is what youre DOING NOW, IT MUST substantiate what youre HOPING FOR. If youre believing GOD for a successful marriage you must be a faithful spouse. IF OUR FOOTBALL WATCHING IS SUBSTANCIATING OUR HOPE IN THE END OF BOKO HARAM, THEN LET US CONTINUE TO WATCH FOOTBALL. But if it isnt, let us quit spectating on soccer and commit ourselves to the requisite actions of our hope. To be a christian is not moi moi (a bed of roses), it wasnt for the pioneering church, and it wont be for the latter days church. Hope is a burden without which there is no tomorrow. Faith is a burden without which there is no today. READ YOUR BIBLE, MEDITATE, PRAY, & OBEY GOD...Kuorire
