To my Egyptian friends... Im absolutely gutted to not be playing in Cairo tonight as planned. The flight I was on was seriously delayed and had mechanical issues which meant the plane would eventually land after the party had long finished. So for the first time ever, I offloaded myself from the flight. I was even handed a landing card whilst sitting on board (pictured - with me looking sad) but as I say, the plane had to return to gate to be repaired for the second time. Eek. As you can see from the flight tracker I downloaded, the plane was due to take off at 17.00 but was over 5hrs late (incidentally, I have no idea who Gareth Malone is)! Also attached is a screenshot from my phone a notification sent to me from British Airways. Please disregard the Steve Jobs quote, that is not relevant. So it is with some sadness I now have returned home to Southampton to enjoy last nights leftover pizza and an old episode of Star Trek. I say some sadness because that is my idea of a rocking night, but I know where Id rather be this evening after leaving my home 11 hours ago and that is playing for you lovely folks in Cairo but it was not meant to be... This time. I am really very sorry but there is nothing anyone could do in this situation and of course safety comes first. I hope to get to you soon.
