Heres what weve had to deal with this month already: - $500 in food costs for the dogs who can eat kibble. Ten Pyrs eat a lot of kibble. - $250 in special food for Rocky (Rocky was so emaciated when he arrived that his system had a lot of difficulty processing and absorbing food. Frankly, it was close to shutting down, period. A special diet was needed to help heal his system while also helping him to put on much needed weight. The pictures with this post are of Rocky when he arrived, and Rocky now. Clearly hes come a long way since we first took him in.) - $250 in vet fees for one visit for Bumble and Hank. And we have more visits needed to figure out whats ailing the little Bumble. - More than $250 in vet fees for the three dogs who recently needed a checkup and vaccinations and heartworm meds. And more dogs are slated for their visits in the weeks to come. - Surgery for GPRW alum Sophie cost $600 beyond what was budgeted by us due to unforeseen circumstances that were revealed during the surgery itself. Theres more - including utilities and gas for travel and transport, and annual insurance premiums. Frankly, running a rescue, while it has its rewards, is not an inexpensive undertaking. The funds weve collected to date are nearly depleted. Thats where your $2.00 donation comes in. If every one of our Facebook fans donates $2.00 between now and Friday, we can raise nearly $2400.
