To quote the director, I pledge to create a short film titled Going Home, in which we visualise a utopia for women, where, unlike today, mistrust and fear don’t dictate actions and decisions. Say, whats the point of this video? Theres the real world where women are raped, in the legal(approved by men, of course) sense of it, and theres this utopian world where mistrust and fear doesnt dictate actions. In this utopian world, a posh woman (need I mention that this is the same old classist version?) asks for help (also, gender roles, duh) from a group of five cisgendered men in the middle of a deserted street {insert rape soundtrack}, gets helped {insert a camera shot up a womans skirt}, and later, asks for a ride back home {insert men pulling her hand, trying to kiss her hand and gesturing among themselves}, gets home safely and hugs them goodbye. Woah. A lot of bullshit to take in at once. So, whats the point of the video? The message is, the onus of NOT GETTING RAPED is on the woman herself. Yes, thats how terrible and disturbing and disgusting it is. Because, how else is the directors utopian world any different from the real world? IT IS NOT, except only by the facts that the woman chooses to ignore all the lecherous stares and mistreatment and gestures and she does not get raped. The director himself blames mistrust and fear ON THE WOMANS PART as the reasons that hinder the achievement of that utopian world where women are not raped(just ogled at and mistreated). Women, learn to let go of your inhibitions, because not all men ogling at you and mistreating you are potential rapists, sometimes they are just boys being boys. Aww, go give them a hug! https://youtube/watch?v=0EDJxs1yJrQ
