To read recently that someone said They no longer sneer when I mention my faith. in reference to being a Catholic was enough to make me gag a little especially just having come from a page describing the horrors inflicted on children by Catholic clergy and details of how parishioners have been duped into protecting these pedophiles because of a few mundane mumblings from a man living a lifestyle entirely remote from the reality of the rest of us by cherry-picking from a collection of writings made millennia ago which evidenced based science refutes today and we get someone publicly singing the praises of a mindset that has never been opened to evidenced based science being applied to the teachings and practices of their religion simply because they claim that to do so is an infringement on their rights to practice their religion. Of course such as a statement is indescribably ignorant. As well it immediately stifles any opportunity for a ration review of some of the practices of Catholicism. Of course there will be objections; objections by the millions or if enough of them were asked the number could be said to be a billion (though that is just another entirely unsupported, unsubstantiated claim of the Catholic Church) who each will be able to provide their own unique and conflicting to the views of millions of other Catholics will never-the-less be claimed with associated unsupported claims of direct experience and direct contact in some circumstances with a yet to be defined god who existed according to its teachings some 13.8 billion years ago and now has a direct connection with the Catholic Church and with many of its individual followers. This connection was established some 2,000 years ago through the understandings of a primitive culture that this god turned into 3 versions of himself with 2 of them apparently taking human form with 1 version coming down to this particular planet amongst the trillions of other planets in the universe to experience human sacrifice so that it may be revered by millions of others for millennia or the 3 gods will ensure you go to a place of eternal pain and punishment for an eternity which may or may not go on for longer that the projected 15 or so billion more years this universe has left of its existence. Today the followers of these cultist practices claim that it is in fact for the benefit and the good of children to threaten them with this form of punishment for minor transgressions of thinking or actions while basic psychology says this creates a life-long state of trauma often lasting for the entire duration of the life of that child and that further this trauma defines the way a follower must compartmentalise, deny and distort their logic or to resort to erroneously claiming an impediment being placed in the way of practising their religion to cover up for the fact that just this single aspect of the Catholic religion has damaged the lives of millions and continues to do so despite this being one of the most simple of understandings possible. What manner of delusion, what manner of grandiosity must be deployed by the deceived so that they can justify having such an abhorrent practice as a basic tenet of their religion. The delusion runs deeper as some Catholics will proclaim that they no longer believe in hell etc yet the hard facts are that those who reject the knowledge of and the teachings of hell are no longer Catholic. They have excommunicated themselves and can never obtain their much sought after place in heaven in their claimed next life without having that belief. Te current Prime Minister of Australia once said that there were only around 10,000 real Catholics in a claimed population of around 5 million Catholics so therefore it behoves the author to state that they are not a real Catholic but just one of millions who clings to their own unique set of selected options and variations of thinking claiming to be the bringer of yet another profound understanding for the world together with a plea for an improved membership of the fastest dwindle religion the world has seen. Perhaps the author should inform themselves a little better. Perhaps start by finding the largest communities of ex Catholics on the Internet and join in the forums or simply stay and read so that she benefit from the experience of others. The forums, Facebook, Twitter and a million plus more pages and sites are available; they very often carry words such as sceptic, humanist, agnostic, atheist, non theist, molested Catholics, ex Catholics in their titles. Of course there is only one thing that could possibly stand in the way of making an objective decision after that with that being the fear of hell and the loss of a claimed after life. In the meantime there is no evidence available for the existence of hell anywhere in the universe despite no one genuinely looking for it except a few deluded by the psychological threat they experienced as a child. There is no evidence for a god that is described in the way Catholicism does. There is no proof that there is any form of connection between the no evidence for god and the group of misogynistic failed child molester protecting Catholic hierarchy with an unhealthy bent of the reproduction rights of women and an exceptionally unhealthy obsession with every stroke of intercourse carried out across the planet.
