To the naysayers: This developer has done one of these projects - TopicsExpress

To the naysayers: This developer has done one of these projects in Panama City and does not reside in this county. I guess if one lives two countys away from this site you think it is safe for the local residence. Three other sites with the correct zoning were rejected in favor of this location and the building was not purchased until after the signing of that state contract. Connect the dots. There were two notices posted in this paper by the state regarding this proposed office but no public meeting (as required by the state) so the community could voice their opinion. For some reason the state could not find the location of that meeting when it was requested. This developer/contractor started this project last year without a permit and was shut down by the city and it wasnt until the local residence found out about this in the last few weeks that permits were finally posted on the front of the building. Evidently someone didnt want to raise a red flag until it was too late. The plans indicated this was a build out to accommodate 192 people with 100 parking spaces and anywhere from 3,200 to over 4,000 people per month visiting this site. Simple math indicates that on a daily basis people would be parking on the residential streets. I would like any of the naysayers try to build out a private business with those numbers proposed to the city. Good luck. And for all of you who think this is a good idea for your neighborhood then maybe you should raise your hand and tell the mayor and the state where you live and offer up your location. Im sure your property values will not be effected in anyway.
