To truly know someone is to understand their heart. To understand is to have spent time learning and listening to that heart, setting aside all preconceived notions and expectations. There is no greater friend than the one who takes the time to do so. In the same way, to be a great friend and servant of our God, we have to take adequate time to know Him beyond presumptions, traditions, misconceptions, and expectations. We must quiet our hearts in order to hear His; we must make it a habit, for the learning will never end. Heres to knowing the One of whom we assume so much but truly understand so little. Teach us, Lord, and prepare our hearts to learn. angie
