Today Brent turned 4 weeks old! It sounds like such a short time, but in many ways it feels like it should be longer with all that has taken place in those 4 weeks. We have been home for a few days and starting to settle into something close to a normal routine. With a newborn, that still means nights with little sleep and looking for opportunities to nap when you can. But getting to spend nights at home and not having to travel back-and-forth to the hospital is such a relief. We know we are blessed because there are still babies back in the hospital waiting to go home, and some who never will - and we realize that could easily be us. In a few short months we will head back for surgery #2, but we are going to enjoy every minute of having Brent at home in the meantime! Brents first couple of days home were filled with doctor visits. He had his first check-up with his pediatrician (finally, a regular ole check-up with a doctor who isnt high risk or some type of specialist!). He was referred back to Childrens on Friday for some twitching/jerking he was doing that resembled seizures. Thankfully he only had benign neonatal myoclonus. Its often confused for seizures, even by doctors. But, another praise - it turned out to be normal and nothing to worry about! Here are some pics from his first few days out of the hospital.
