Today Dec.5th is the 50th anniversary of my first symptom of MS ,optic neuritis.I went to an ENT physician who diagnosed it as a ruptured blood vessel in my eye from lifting weights.Boy was he wrong!! The next symptom that started was tingling in my left leg followed by vertigo and numbness in my left arm and hand.By the end of the month I was in panic mode.My parents were friends with a couple whos son in law was a neuro pathologist who happened to be visiting for the Christmas.They took me to see him and he did a basic Neuro test on me and said it was MS.I was admitted to the hospital there I was given ACTH iv solution for 4 days.I ws discharged after a week.I was told by the Neurologist that I would probably need a wheelchair when discharged and to be ready for the worst.SURPRISE !! I walked out of the hospital and I am still walking 50 years after that.Believe me anything is possible.Just believe in yourself and never give up the fight YOU CAN WIN.Have a Great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
