Today I had my browser set to youtube. And out of all the million tunes on youtube, my nine month old son started swiping his fingers across the screen, and this started playing.... Eerie, I had shivers up my spine....amazing how back then young artists like Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Sly Stone, Shel Silverstein, Hoyt Axton, Robbie Robertson were writing songs with a wisdom way beyond their age...but then back then it was not about branding and packaging....thats not to say today there are not good singers and artists....but the music is very processed, and the messages and depth of lyrics is very superficial, for the most part, at least...for those who lived through those days, we can pass along the torch to those who choose to listen...it was a very magical time.
