Today I met a man who literally broke my heart. I been trying to - TopicsExpress

Today I met a man who literally broke my heart. I been trying to sell Zachary Thomas the Train tracks, trains and buildings. After being stood up by so many buyers, lowballers ect... I finally met this man who wanted to buy it for his son for his birthday which passed. Weve been texting and he told me he was buying it as a belated present. So we agreed to meet at 11am this morning. I was taking Don (items were in storage) because well I didnt know this guy. He text me to tell me he was already there (10:20am) so a little frustrated because I wasnt ready I hurried and had to hurry Don. As we arrived I received a text from this buyer telling me he had to leave on an emergency. I was mad because this was typical of buyers to back out at last minute. So I text him back and told him we were inside and so he said he would wait then and drove in after I opened the gates for him. I was in a hurry and forgot where my key was located (looking for it frantically on my key rings and not finding it) and had to tell him I lost it and he was very understanding. Luckily Zachary remembered where it was. I misjudged this guy who had two little ones with him. He introduced me to his kids while Don got his trains. I asked him if his wife was working and he sadly told me she just died in Dec. She had an aneurysm. She was only 22. These kids a boy and a girl probably ages 1 and 2 smiling and playing in the back of his truck. I told him I was so sorry and asked him how he was managing. He said they both worked together at Long Beach hospital but her job paid more. After she died he put in a transfer and got her position. It changed his hours so he could care for the kids as his only family was his sister who also worked in the same hospital. He worked Friday night-Sunday 10 hour shifts. Sister worked Mon-Thurs. So he had the kids during week and she watched them on the weekends while he worked. He told me he had been struggling with them at first as mom did all the work changing diapers and caring for them. He said he hadnt had anytime for himself and that between him and his sister they been doing the best they can with the kids. Listening to him just broke my heart. He was so kind and gentle speaking and heartbroken at the same time. I felt so bad. And here his kids were sweet smiling, playing with my boys not knowing about their mother. He told me his son birthday had passed and he didnt buy anything for him yet and he been looking for Thomas the train set but didnt want to buy it brand new. After helping him put all the tracks and trains in his truck and playing with the kids for a while I decided I wanted to help this guy out. I asked him if he had a babysitter or someone he trusted if he or his sister cant watch the kids for whatever reason. He told me he doesnt have anyone else and sometimes he has to attend meetings at work and cant because he has the children. I told him if he ever needed help to call me. I told him I work M-F until noon but after that I am free and since I told him since we dont have a sitter ourselves we take our kids everywhere with us including weekends (so whats two more?). He asked how much I charge him and I told him I am not licensed and he could pay me what he can afford. He was so happy and he said the kids would love to have some kids to play with and that it would help him out greatly. I wasnt worried about the money he seemed to be an honest hard working man and I felt that he was sent to me after all the other no show buyers stood me up. I think God, no I know God wants me to help him. Anyways he purchased Zachary train set and I made a new friend. The kids a little dirty but cute as heck. I am glad I am passing Zachary set to him, it meant alot to Zach at one point as its been in boxes all this time because he refused to let me sell it but he had no issues and the money goes towards new beds for the boys. Peace out.
