Today, I voted in favor of the GI Bill Tuition Fairness Act. This bill prohibits state and public institutions from imposing tuition fees for veterans that are above in-state tuition rates, extends the Rehabilitation Program for disabled veterans from 12 years to 17 years, and extends the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program. It accomplishes all of these goals while also decreasing direct spending by $349 million over the next ten years. I proudly represent over 120,000 veterans and this type of legislation is needed for our brave heroes to get the education and benefits they deserve.
