Today I want to brake from my usual posting and solute my family veterans for this Memorial day. I want to thank Department of Veterans Affairs for my list of Americas Wars. With a family that has confirm roots going back to New York migrating there in 1710 from Palatine Germany going through Amsterdam and England. We have many veterans of war, here is my list. I want to thank and solute them all for serving our country. Global War on Terror (Oct 2001 - ) Ashley STONER 2011 currently serving in Navy. She is my Grandniece. Tara STRIEBY BATDORF 2010 current serving in Navy. She is my Niece. Will BATDORF currently serving in Navy. Husband of Tara. Steven FRAZER . Currently serving in the army. He is my first cousin once removed Vickies son. Mathew STRIEBY was in Navy serving 2003 to 2013. He is my Nephew. Eric Thomas CLEMENCE 25 Apr 2002-2004 the US Navy. Was over in the Mideast during the second Gulf war in 2003. He was my Nephew. April Lynn MYERS August 1999-2003 was in Air Force. She is my Niece. Americas Wars Total (1775 -1991) Janice Krisanne ENZOR was in USMC. She is a third cousin. Desert Shield/Desert Storm (1990-1991) Kenneth Randal COAY served in the Air Force 1973 to 1997. He also served during Vietnam War. He was my Husband. Vietnam War(1964-1975) George Rolland WILSON served in Germany. He was my first cousin. Norman WILSON he served in Vietnam. He is my first cousin. I remember in 1868 writing to him over in Vietnam. Stanley Paul KNICKERBOCKER He did a tour in Vietnam and Ejected after his plane was hit. His left arm was caught in the parachute shrouds and dislocated his shoulder, which caused him to spend some time in the Air force Hospital in Dayton Ohio. He retired from the service as a full Colonel after 28 years of service. He was a second cousin twice removed. David Vernon PIAISECKI at the time he married my cousin Eddi on 15 Jan 1973 his occupation was listed as US Navy. Korean War (1950-1953) Kenneth Rodney COAY, was reported on 3 June 1953 he was on Board USS Bon Homme Richard; was in the Naval Reserve as a Fireman. He was my Father-in-law. Dale Richard WILSON was reported on 7 December 1952 in Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan, United States; Inducted into the Army was in till Dec. 1954. He was my Father. A side note Dad was in the Naval Reserve I think with Kens dad, but had a motorcycle accident and was medicaled out. It was a surprise when he was inducted into the Army. World War II (1941 -1945) Curtis Albert BUSKIRK died in Belgium 7 Jan 1945. Husband of Ellen May Bishop my first cousin twice removed. Frederick GOHEEN Served with the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater as a Signalman 3dr Class. Father of Marcia GOHEEN dads second wife. Roland LADLY, 1 May 1943 Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan, United States; World War II. Son of Aunt Mildred a second cousin once removed. Buddy Lee LAKE, 14 December 1943 U.S. Navy; World War II. He was the husband of Evon Wilson my first cousin once removed. George Allen KNICKERBOCKER He served in the U.S. Navy from early 1942 until 1947, receiving an early discharge due to his fathers death. During his service he attained the Rate of CSK(D), and served most of his time in the South Pacific on a small supply vessel. He was my second cousin twice removed. World War I (1917-1918) CULVER, Harrison Benjamine 7 March 1918 Entered At Camp Greenleaf Annex, Ft. Oglethorp, GA. He entered service for World War I on March 7 1918. Served in France in the Ambulance Corps Co. L. Posted to A.R.C. Medical Corps. Bace Hospital No. 5 as Pvt. 1st class. Also posted at A. E. 5 France Bace Hospital No. 8 Ward Master. Posted to Convalescent Camp, Paris, France to Base Hospital 214 Savency, France Jan. 24, 1919 left for U.S. Feb. 7, 1919 arived in U.S. March 1st 1919. Was not in a battle. He was discarged on May 6, 1919. He was my second great granduncle. NORTH, Byron Claussy 12 April 1918 Entered At Camp Custer, Mich; White American. He was the husband of my great grandaunt. OLMSTEAD, Lloyd Elmer 29 May 1918 disch. Dec 24, 1918. Was married to Mildred June Uncle Harleys wife. Renold A. MCCRUMB Enlisted in Chicago ILL . 01-24-1918. From army records # 1393344. Served overseas in France from 05-18-1918 to 05-23-1919.as Pvt. was wounded. Served in C. B 108th Eng. My Uncle Mack, Granduncle, do I really have to say on Grandmas side. WOOD, Arthur Franklin 1917 Charlevoix Co., Michigan, USA; 1917 draft lottery. He was my first cousin three times removed. Spanish-American War (1898-1902) John R. PULVER 26 Apr 1898 entered service Summit, De Kalb, Indiana, USA. A cousin. Civil War (1861-1865) David CULVER 13 October 1864 De Kalb Co., Indiana, USA; Company A, 9th Infantry Regiment Indiana. He was my third great granduncle. Harrison CULVER 13 August 1862 Auburn, De Kalb, Indiana, USA; Company A, 100th Infantry Regiment Indiana. He died in service. He was my third great granduncle. Samuel CULVER 29 September 1864 Wolcottville, Indiana; Company G, 142nd Infantry Regiment Indiana. Mustered out on 28 June 1865. Also has been listed as Sergt of 5th Ind Bat Civil war. He was my third great granduncle. Wesley Summers, Civil War who enjoys the distinction of being one of the youngest enlisted soldiers in the Civil War. He was born in Geauga County, Ohio, July 21, 1853, and enlisted October 2, 1862, when but nine years and three months old. He first served as teamster in the Twenty-first Ohio Battery, Light Artillery, and afterward became lanyard, his duty being to fire the gun. He was honorably discharged on is twelfth, July 21, 1865, after having served two years, nine months and nineteen days. He was one of the husbands of Mary Fidelia MCCRUMB my Great Grandaunt. Joshua Thuma I have his a civil war vet and died in service. He was my second great granduncle. David Thuma served in the fourteenth Infranty from Iona co. Mich company d. He was the brother of Joshua Thuma. Mexican War (1846-1848) Indian Wars (approx. 1817-1898) For both of these wars, I have not at this time, found a Veteran in the family that fought in them. War of 1812 (1812-1815) Andrus(Andrews) Knickerbocker War of 1812 Veteran. Obtained land grant(s) for services, pos. in Mich. as his sons moved to Mich. and took up Farming. James gave up and returned to Genesee County, NY. Maxon Godfrey also in War of 1812 and also lived in Genesee Co., NY for a while. Third cousin five times removed. William W. MCCRUMB Fought in 1812 war muters out as corpal fought under Captain Step W. Kearny the thirteeth regiment of infantry. Enlisted on 13 June of 1813. Place listed as county Delaware in Pennsylvania. listed as age 22, occupation Blacksmith. Third great grandfather. American Revolution (1775-1783) Abraham PHILLIPS Dutchess County Militia -- Second Regiment Rank: Enlisted Men. John C. KNICKERBOCKER Rev. War Veteran. Was in battles of White Plains and Harlem. 2. His father-in-law was in same regiment. Dutchess Co. Militia, 6th Regiment. 3. aka Johannes. The C. probably was for Cornelius as it was the custom of the day to give the children the fathers name as a middle name. Husband of Susannah Pulver my second cousin six times removed. William MCCRUMB I have a Muster Roll record of a William McCrumb a private in Revolutionary war from Capt. Josiah Harts Co. Commanded by Robert Lewis Colonel of the 2d Battalion of Philadelphis Co. in the Manor of Moland. Dated Aug. 8, 1776. Fourth or fifth Great grandfather. John or Johannes THUMA I have him as a Rev war vet. He is my fifth great grandfather. My earliest Veteran and is pre-United States of American Johannes Wandel(William)PULVER, 30 November 1715 Manor Of Livingston, New York; Roll of the independent company. My seventh great grandfather.
