Today. January 1, 2015 is the 56 anniversary of a qualitatively different period in Cuban history. This date marks the triumphant entry into Havana by Cuban Revolutionary forces and the overthrow of the U.S.-backed Batista regime. And, despite the more than half a century of a criminal economic blockade, the many examples of U.S. subversion, including terrorist acts and the more than 600 attempts on the life of Cubas revolutionary leader, Fidel Castro, the Cuban Revolution continues to survive. Cubas successful struggle to fight off re-colonization by the U.S. is not attributed to magic.It is attributed to the vast majority of the people united and ready to fight in order to defend what belongs to them. LONG LIVE THE CUBAN REVOLUTION!!!
