Today: Thai Border Patrol sparring, and Massachusetts State Police The Ravens Challenge EOD/Bomb tech training is taking place at a Thai Border Police base in Hua Hin. While the explosives training goes on, the Border Patrol police train hard nearby. I can see them training while I am with the EOD. I will not describe the Border Patrol training because I have not asked the Commander for permission, but I can say that they train hard, and when they run, a bunch of dogs run along with them like part of the pack! After the long day of training today, the Border Patrol came close to our group and started practicing fighting. They were getting into it. And then Trooper Eric Gahagan -- Bomb Tech from Massachusetts State Police (and someone I know from many years ago in America), shows Thai people that he knows how to wai. :) Eric and all the other Americans here at the training are greatly enjoying working with Thai military and police, and enjoying Thailand. For some of our Soldiers, this is their first trip to the Kingdom, and they already want to come back -- before they even have left. While the Border Patrol men practiced fighting, a Bomb Tech rolled out a robot, which caused the semi-wild dogs who follow the Border Police to have a standoff with the robot. The dogs did not now what to make of that robot. With all the sounds of machine-gun fire, helicopters, and explosions, these dogs still hang around and seem very happy.
