Today has been a day of reflection (I can hear some of you saying, uh oh!) I was thinking (I know, dangerous hobby), that I don’t want my family and friends to mourn my passing, dressed in black, or uncomfortable suits, to weep and wail that I’m gone! Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-religious, I just find the whole church funeral service all a bit formal, when formal really isn’t me….. I want my loved ones, family and friends to celebrate my life, to hold a truly memorable and joyous occasion, to sing songs of my choosing (show songs, rude songs, not hymns or psalms), to laugh, to cry with laughter, reminisce, get drunk, to have a damned good time.. I want people who actually knew me to speak of me, as honestly as they wish. I want to go out with a bang (quite literally), I want to be cremated, my remains placed in a muckle big firework, and set off over Hawick, at night, and I’ll be heard all right, and scattered over a wide area….
