Today hasnt exactly gone smoothly. It began when I got to the train station, only to be told that the trains were running late. That was ok though, because I decided, for the first time ever, to buy a myki pass, so I had plenty of time to do this. In all the excitement, I totally forgot to touch on. This is generally an easy fix, as the vline ticket inspectors can just do it on the train. However, as my myki was in negative money (whoops), they couldnt do that. The lady said it was alright though, I just had to top it up when I got off. But, of course, the one time I forget to touch on, theres authorised officers at the station. I contemplated just sitting there until they left (I actually wondered around the station a bit and sat down for a few minutes), but then realised that I was already late for work. I mustered up the courage to explain my situation to them and luckily they understood. All was then going smoothly, until I was three quarters of the way back to the station after work riding my bike. Something felt strange, then I realised that Id forgotten my helmet. Which was especially bad because since Ive began riding my bike to work, Ive experienced an average of one crash a week. Granted Ive only been doing it for a week, but thats still not great odds. However, the day is definitely looking up, because my tutorial was cancelled so now I have time to do the washing.
