Today in Chapel I got to sit with Jim and Kate during the middle of the service. Kate sat still and attentive in my lap the whole time. Then, during the Communion liturgy, she whispered her own responses in my ear, saying words she could understand along with us. She noticed someone opening their hands upward so she took my hands and put them in a cupping, receptive posture. Then she did the same with her own little hands and put them next to mine. I cannot describe the joy of sitting with my family in worship and sharing these very early worship experiences with Kate. Perhaps her first memories of worship will be in Estes Chapel. What an indescribable gift.
