Today in school one of my female students was being very disruptive. She was disrespectful, walking out of class, and not doing any work..the teachers were about to send her home because they were honestly fed up with her and her actions. So they sent her to our planning room to wait for the resource officer, this was not her first incident. So they left her and I in the room alone and at first, I was not going to say anything because she had honestly upset me earlier that morning, but something me pushed me to talk to her. So as I begin to talk to her I asked her different things and we conversed for a little while. In the midst of our conversation she began to cry because I told her I knew she could do and be better. She nodded at me and cried some more. I realized at that moment that i had always heard her speak of a father but never a mother or even an older sister....so begin to tell her about my years in middle school and how her and I were somewhat similar in action lol at the end of our conversation she said thank you. This young lady been labeled by many as a troublemaker but i declare NOT ON MY WATCH! I realized even more today that I am doing exactly what Im supposed to be. Thanks God :-)
