Today, instead of waking up with a song in my heart, I woke up with a very heavy heart, with a specific dog in mind - Jordan - the beautiful young, gentle pitbull that was killed yesterday at San Bernardino City Shelter. This happens EVERY DAY, unfortunately, and often its a pit bull. But what made this situation especially sad and unnecessary is that a rescue was on its way to rescue him, AND there were 18 empty cages at the shelter. They were not overcrowded. What happened? Who dropped the ball? Jordan (in my opinion) should be the new poster dog for changing all shelters to NO KILL. This should never have happened. Thanks to Maria Sanchez and the pups of San Bernardino city shelter for bringing our attention to the dogs at this shelter every day..
