Today is Australian Citizenship Day. This is a day on which people are supposed to celebrate the unifying bond that is citizenship and all that it means to be Australian. The Department of Immigration and Citizenship are encouraging people to make 15 second videos in which they affirm their commitment to Australia. Oz Kiwi encourages its supporters to make their own videos to show how kiwis have committed to Australia, even if Australia will not recognise that commitment. This is not an opportunity to attack current policies, but rather to celebrate the connections kiwis have with Australia and spread our positive message.
