Today is World Prematurity Day! We went to visit his NICU team, doctors and some of the other babies. Also we found out that Dominic is scared of Santa lol He weighs 9lbs 9oz! We honour the babies that were born too soon, the ones that fought and made it and the ones that didnt make it. Premature labor can happen to anybody, both of my pregnancies were going great until I was diagnosed with Incompetent cervix at my 20 week ultrasound. Natasha Angel Marie was born March 9,2013 at 1lb 5oz 11.5 inches long at 23 weeks! 131 days in the NICU. She is now 20 months/16 adjusted weighs 20lbs 2oz. 8 months later we found out we were pregnant again, 10 weeks a irregular heart beat was detected; 14 weeks we found out baby had a heart defect and was pressured to terminate. I wouldnt give up.. 19 weeks I had an emergent cerclage because of shortening cervix. OB was certain I would have gone close to full term 36 weeks.. Dominic had other plans after PPROM at 24w6d I delivered him at 25 weeks 5 day weighing 1lb 8oz 12 inches long. Thank you all for following our sons story he is very unique with his heart defect an being born so premature. I hope he continues to prove them wrong, and Ill always be fighting by his side. 💙
