Today is a special day. 12 years ago after 25 horrible hours of what I thought was the worst pain any woman had ever endured labor, and 9 months of true fear of what was going to change my life forever, my son was born. Matthew came into this world quiet as a mouse. I am for sure positive that was the only time he was ever really quiet. Matthew, is my only child, the absolute love of my life, and I have been blessed to have him call me Mom. I know he was given to me to test my every fiber of strength and sanity. To teach me what being selfless really is. To remind me what unconditional love truly is. Oh gosh, to say the last 12 years have been easy would be the absolute untruth. Matthew has had so much going against him than for him. These past seven years I have watched him struggle and fight every step of his way. I have watched him adapt to change, cope with a brain that doesnt work like everybody elses, fail miserably at processing the difference, then smile so big when he was able to adjust and overcome. Matthew is the most important person in my life, even with all the hurdles we have had to jump, I love him more every single day. Today is his special day, the last birthday before entering the teenage years, oh my gosh, that is so scary. Happy birthday Matthew Thomas Beesley. Mommy loves you to the moon and back, and I miss you like crazy. I hope you have an amazing birthday son. I will see you soon!
