Today is my Daddys, Darrell Faulkner, birthday, and I thought that I was going to be very sad today because I wasnt going to be able to wish him happy birthday and give him a gift due to his passing, but then I thought there is a gift I can give him...I can not be upset and I can be thankful that for all the years that even though I came from a divorced home, without fail, every week, birthday, & holiday my daddy came faithfully to get us girls and take us to eat, shop, fishing, a movie, or whatever he could do to be with us. He even took the responsibility of being the father figure role to my brother whose father was so far away and let my brother be apart of any activity we did, if he wanted to. SO MANY children come from split homes and suffer the penalties of that broken home, but my Daddy did not make us suffer for that. So today Daddy, my gift is a big smile and a sparkle in my eye as I look to Heaven (knowing you are there) with so much thanks in my heart for all of the years of love, attention, affection, time, dedication, devotion, teaching, compassion, and everything Ive taken morally & ethically, my Christian values, and all you taught me in life, especially my cooking skills :). I was honored to have you as my Father, my Daddy, but mostly my friend. I love you and miss you so very much! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!
