Today is my fathers birthday. He would have been 82 years old. Although he died at age 47, I have a fairly good idea of how he would look now because he looked just like his daddy. PaPa lived to be 96. Elvis Presley was born the same year as my mother on my fathers birthday. Based on these facts, I decided as a little girl that we had some mystical connection to Elvis. The first Elvis movie I saw was Blue Hawaii at the drive-in in Williamsburg, KY when I was 4. I thought he was the most gorgeous thing Id ever seen and that he looked just like my daddy (not true). My sweet father brought me all of Elvis 45s and I learned to lip sync to all of them. My favorite was All Shook Up. I incorporated some very imaginative choreography into that performance.
