Today is the Tagores death anniversary one of the brightest stars in the sky of Bengali literature. He has enriched the treasure of Bangali literature through his writing. His anglomania (British Love) helped him to get Nobel prise. Though he was not deserved so, even his English knowledge and writing was so much inadequate that an English school student could. But yes his hypocrisy made him famous. I say Sarat Chandra ChattoPadhay was far more talented and extraordinary than him. I prefer him best. Tagores personal life was not fair as he was lascivious and characterless having illicit relation with his brother-in-laws and so many unnamed girls. However his few philosophical writings gives us overwhelming thought about the God and our fate. Pakistan banned his writing after the separation but that wasnt fair. I advise you to read his poetry at least to judge the Tagore.
