Today is the anniversary of the death of Otis Redding. A pioneer of soulful living and singing. His music has always been around, but I have to say that I was mostly introduced to Otis Redding in 1985. It was the “Pretty in Pink” movie. Duckie in the record store. The song was “Try A Little Tenderness.” It was superbly performed and Otis would have loved the tribute. Before Itunes or YouTube, you had to go the record store to find a song. I was on a hunt for Otis and I found him. I’ve seen just about every documentary. I thank artists like Otis Redding for caring enough to reveal the depth of their souls in their songs.
