Today is the birthday of my daughter Caity and it wouldnt be fair to just wish her Happy Birthday without mentioning the amazing woman who did most of the work making her into the person she is today. Anita not only gave birth to Caity 22 years ago today but she was so sweet in making sure she went into labor DURING her nursing shift at Shands. She had a leisurely (more or less since she WAS in labor ; ) trip down (or was it up?) one floor to Maternity and I had a leisurely drive across town from our apartment. Anita was so brave during labor and again so kind as it lasted less than 6 hours. If ever a guy needs proof labor is where it is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that women are tougher, stronger, braver and ultimately better than men. Caity was born at 2 AM on January 30th, 1992 and I had the privilege of seeing her first. As I noted in her birthday wishes it was love at first sight. Over these 22 years I have to admit Anita has been every bit as amazing as Caity in her devotion as a wife and mother. Caity and I are VERY lucky indeed. So Anita today we celebrate together the birth of our daughter but I celebrate the kindness of fate that I found you in the first place.
