Today was another fun day. We went to church this morning at a place called Grace Fellowship. It was fun to worship with people from all over the world. This afternoon, Marianna and I combined to teach a conversational English class. It was extremely difficult!! There was no book, no material. Just trying to make up some conversation. We got through the 1 1/2 together though and afterwards, we were able to worship at the church plant that Christina Thomas works with. There was almost 40 people there tonight!! Finally, we came home and found the neighborhood boys ready to "play ball." I was exhausted and had already decided I was going to just go to bed, but Evan told me we needed to go out and play so we did. It was neat to hear all the boys yelling Evan as they wanted him to play baseball, soccer, and football with them all at once. Finally, I will leave you with a personal note. Yesterday morning, Evan, SG and I were all up on the rooftop terrace looking over the neighborhood. I noticed two small children run out of their house and up to a Buddhist monk and offer money and then hold their hands in the prayer position waiting for their blessing. It broke my heart to see them do this but also made me so thankful that the God of the universe chose me to be His son. He chose me to be raised in a Christian home. He chose me to be raised in a country where Christ is preached. I realized how unworthy I was of this calling, and yet how extremely grateful I am to call Him father. Finally, I realized those two small children who ran up to the monk will never know anything different unless somebody goes to tell them that Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords. What a challenge we have received from Christ!! I pray my family will be faithful this summer to that challenge and be faithful the rest of our lives.
