Today is the third day of Christmas in Hungary ... thinking of all - TopicsExpress

Today is the third day of Christmas in Hungary ... thinking of all my special Hungarian friends on this special day. For those who dont know, Christmas Eve is celebrated with just the family, the immediate family. Then, Dec 25 is the second day of Christmas with a church service & a big meal [feast] where the extended family is invited in for fellowship. The third day of Christmas, Dec 26, is another big meal with get togethers with friends, business associates, etc. 3 nice meals over 3 days & then they dont eat much until Dec 31-Jan 1. I love their special traditions. Thinking about my German, Austrian, British, Irish, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Slovakian, Czech, Ukrainian, Russian, Albanian, Croatian, Bosnia, Swiss, Dutch, Danish, Scottish, Moroccan, Egyptian, South African, Kenyan, Liberian, Australian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Thai, Costa Rican, Mexican, Caribbean, Argentine, Chilean, Brazilian, Canadian, Israeli, Turkish, Greek ... I have lots of friends in many places ... surely I forgot a nation ... somebody is going to bonk me on the head for forgetting their country. Ok, Alabama. That should cover it. :) [I have a bunch of former friends in Alabama after I said this ... oh me!] My dear Romanian & Montenegrin friends will celebrate on January 7 [Hope I got the date right]. The Orthodox religion tradition & calendar is different from the Gregorian calendar that the west uses. They also have very special traditions at Christmas. Thinking of yall!! [Is anyone else out there absolutely tired & frustrated with autospell? Even the word autospell is corrected. What is their problem? Ha!]
