Today it would be so easy for the enemy to fool you that God has forgotten you and that His promises are far and few. We close our eyes and recall seeing the planes crash, the smoke billowing, the buildings coming down, and people panicking. Today would be the perfect day for the enemy to attack your faith and to feed your doubt. Today will be the day that you recall those horrific scenes and those feelings that you buried resurface for just a moment. A moment is all it takes for infiltration to occur. This is when the enemy will bombard you with all that is wrong with your life. He will remind you that the mortgage is late and the light bill past due. He will remind you that the bills are large and your bank account is small. He will show you the new handsome/beautiful coworker that your spouse has and the argument that you had last night. He will glorify the neighbor with the honor roll kid while you are on a parent teacher call because your child is being the class clown while failing the class. And you will run into the church member who always has his/herself together while you seem to be hanging on by only grace. I am not saying to forget those moments. Those moments will forever be embedded in my memory. But instead of seeing what the enemy has put a spotlight on remember the people who helped those get out of the buildings. Recall how days after people seemed to be nicer and more loving. Focus on how even times of hatred, God brought people into your life who showed you love. While through tears you gave hugs and encouragement. Look at what you know is true and remember that even on such a dark day God was still faithful and love still was felt.
