Today marks a significant event for me. It was 2 years ago today my wife took me to the ER with a hole in my gut on the edge of punching out of this thing we call life. A dire situation, but so many good things came out of it.😊 I gained four treasured friends that I owe my life to. Haruna, Ryoko, Saori, Rino and my wife, nursed me back to health and got me back on my feet. Always being there and watching over me. The point? Many years ago, after watching so many of my friends either move away or die, I gave up on having friends. Either way, they left. I grew tired of saying goodbye. It was easier to just withdraw and isolate myself. No friends, no attachments, no goodbyes, no pain. Toyoko used to joke with me about all the friend (no s) that I had.😄 That changed 2 years ago when these people came into my life, and I couldnt let go. Ive allowed myself to get close to people again. And now I have friends that are getting ready to move away again. Saori-chan will be moving to Tokyo, and Dr. Nakasu will be taking his English Medical Exam on August 25th. When he passes his test, he and his family will be moving to America for several years for him to practice medicine there. Love that family!☺️ And Ive been helping them both to achieve their goals. Knowing it will take them away. But also knowing how these things are so important to them. But I have come to realize something. It is because of my friends, I am the man I am today. Whether they have been in my life for only a short period, or are still here, they have made me a better person...I truly am so thankful for the real friends, and family, that have shared their lives with me...
