Today my roommates decorated our dining-table green, and I prefer blue, but I don’t care, whether it is Dutch-green (Heineken) or Irish green, because I know am a Kenyan, and that its OK to be proud of who I am. Yet, there is a little Irish in me and, I know being Irish is ‘worse’ than being; Dutch, Kenyan or anyone, because the Irish are famous for their love for the green ‘decorations’ That realization awakens my Irish genie and soon my head is cloudy, and world peace is a really possibility :) A few days ago, I am a small-village boy, excited to explore my grand world-the secluded villages of Taita-Hills. A few days later, still a boy, a little taller, just turned 33, in the heart of the world-chasing the elusive American-dream, and everybody is asking me: When will I get married? I will marry when I want (Ngungi wa Thiongo) :) and when I can but, as for now, everything is mysterious and everything is beautiful. I am getting too nostalgic, I can use more of that green “decorations” before I crawl to bed. It sure is a great 33rd thank you friends.
