Today my thoughts and prayers go out to those who spent Christmas at the hospital .... My heart has been so heavy for yall ... Melissa Woodard Ford, Stan Redding and so many others! We spent Thanksgiving and Christmas at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas with Sabrina May where she stayed for 9 months waiting for new lungs that sadly never came 😢 I wouldnt give a dime for those times because they are so special and taught me so much about stopping to smell the roses in life. In the hospital, although different, you see such a raw side of the holiday... A real/stripped down version that will stay forever in your heart. Its about sacrifice. I was so fortunate - Our entire family was there - sprawled out with kids, babies, toys, and Christmas presents (that Gramma bought at the hospital gift shop - and some MY girls wont ever let me forget!). Others may prefer solitude, but for us .... This was perfect! I will forever remember those who were working during those holidays providing the most compassionate care ... And that delicious cafeteria food! I will forever remember those NURSES who loved her so much and broke the rules when I asked if we could all be in her ICU room together so she could see all of us at one time for a crazy Mayville Moment and for her to get to see and hold Emma for the first time. We miss her each year, and this year we will miss my dad so much .... But those left behind will keep gathering together and remembering the great times together .... No matter where they were spent!
