Today my wallet was stolen, we went to Target in Westbury, Long Island, because according to me its totally worth the drive since its located in a nice area. We werent in the store 10 minutes when at the shampoo isle a woman asked me to get in front of my car to reach something, her friend knocks down shampoos from the other side of the isle, I make my son go and help her pick it all up, when hes done they leave, (never thinking I was being set up!) I go to get my phone to coordinate my shopping with my mother in law (who thank God was with me!!!) and I realized someone had gone into the bottom of my daughters diaper bag to reach for my wallet. They took my wallet, with my license, my kids health insurance cards, my car keys, $242.00 in cash and a credit card. I didnt know what to do with myself, call 911, look for security, call my husband, it was such a chaotic confusing 2 minutes. Called 911, called my husband, the manager at target went to look for video footage that would possibly and hopefully catch the person who did this. A fun day turned into a stressful one. I started to cry, my son is trying console me, my daughter started telling me its ok mommy, were ok mommy then I call my sister so she could help me pass the word around that I had no phone and what had happened. Like always, she put everything in perspective, it could be worse, the kids were fine, my husband were fine, we were all safe and sound, everything in my wallet was material stuff that could easily be replaced. By the time John came to our rescue I was calm. Before we left, we get a phone call that an old couple found my wallet in a parking lot of a mall in Long Island, my husband and the police officer that was there filling out the report went to pick it up, we got my wallet back with my license, my kids cards and my car keys, my phone with over 2000 pics of my family GONE!, my money GONE of course, my credit card GONE! (I must also share that they charged $900.00 on my credit card at Nordstrom and got gas with my card, thank God it was alerted as Fraud already, but its still amazing how quick these people work!!!) We get in the car, put the radio on and The Eye of the Tiger comes on, Im listening to the words quietly when my son says to me mom, listen to this song, this song never comes on radio and when it does, we never catch the whole song. This song is on because after this day we just had, were still ok! Oh my God!!! I almost missed it!!!! No matter what life throws at as, at the end of the day, what matters most is the FREE love and family ties that we get to enjoy each day. Today was an awesome day!!!! my 9 year old son gets it. Im so proud of him, and my daughter. Thank God for my husband too whos always there for us no matter what, always ready to run and jump through loops for us because he loves his family so much. I know I say it often, but I never get tired of saying it. I love my family! I am one lucky girl!!!!! Thank you God for your gifts each day
