Today my whole day was devoted to Garhwal Bhavan, thus killing a wonderful Sunday, literally having no rest. I was on fast and wanted to be at home, but all in vain. My usual social engagements always keep me mobile, even on usual weeekly offs. Never mind after all I am a social animal and my personal opinion says that till we are alive we should be on the service of the society or its people keonki apne liye to sab jeete hain majaa to tab aataa hai jab hum doosron ke liye jiye. Anyways, I had two engagements in Garhwal Bhavan today. Our old friend and a hard core social worker who just retired from Food and Civil Supplies Department as Inspector had a farewell and felicitation party in Garhwal Bhavan, Panchquian Road which went on for two hours and later on a huge function at the main auditorium pertaining to the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha, the oldest and largest organization of the people of the hills in Delhi , particularly of Garhwalies . This social organization was formed in 1923 and has thousands of members under its fold. Honestly speaking I also had my own interest to participate in these functions though i lost my whole Sunday, and that interest was that I had to distribute the invitation cards for our seminar being held at Gandhi Peace Foundation, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, ITO at 1-30 PM on Sunday , the 13 April on the topic Uttarakhand AApda aur Rahat to be addressed by UK. CM Harish Rawat and many senior journalists of Uttrakhandi Origins living in Delhi and associated with various prestigious news channels and news papers.
