Today, one of my very good friends, Hammed, a friend i can say knows the real me and what I am/am not capable of, accused me of being a PDP member/sympathiser because of my posts. Now, if just anybody had said that, I would have simply laughed it off and allowed the mouth-owner to continue using his mouth, but Hammed knows me, means well and is very objective. So, i went through my posts and saw for myself. Ok, ok, my posts have probably been partial and one-sided, but on second thoughts, most of the people I have in mind when posting such things are one-sided thinkers too who think because GEJ is evil, all his antagonists must be saints. I will try to balance my views, but those who continue to criticise just one party and turn blind eyes to the other partys faults are in no way different. I do not like the PDP, whether or not you believe is up to you. How can I like a party that has been in power for 16 years with nothing to show for it? How can I even be proud of a party that continues to throw parties and film purchase of nomination forms when Nigerians are dying? How can I be part of a party that awards contract for one project 4 or 5 times without implementation? How can I be part of a party that doesnt see stealing as corruption? Country people, I ask, how can I like a party whose flag bearer openly told us he doesnt give a damn? How can I even like a party that has not only shown a flagrant disregard for the nations laws, but has through their actions and inactions, encouraged others to do so? Haven said that, the lack of objectivity on the part of most PDP haters is disturbing. Like I said sometime ago, the get-Jonathan-out-at-all-cost syndrome will destroy us. While we detest PDP and its actions, turning blind eye to the misdeeds of others is bias and the very height of double standard. James Ogunjimi
