Today s reading reminds us of the greater reward we have in Christ, which can never be compared to earthly gains, as we kick off the Lenten season tomorrow with the Ash Wednesday, lets reflect on our past relationship with Jesus, Do we want more of Jesus? Are we ready to give up little pleasures to make time for him in our lives? Are we willing to make little sacrifices and deny ourselves of little pleasures not just for the next 40 days but for the rest of our lives? Do we still have hope and faith that we will gain what we lose if we follow Christ? Here is the promise by Jesus himself: There is no one who has given up home, brothers or sisters, mother or father, children or property, for Me and for the gospel, who will not receive in this present age a hundred times as many. Mark 10 vs 29 - 30. Let this promise resound in our heads as we make up our minds on what to sacrifice in order to grow deeply in love with Jesus. Lord Jesus, help me to love you. Amen.
