Today some teach it is only by the Holy Spirit that one is - TopicsExpress

Today some teach it is only by the Holy Spirit that one is enlightened and drawn to God that they may be saved. They say except one has an experience of the Holy Spirit moving on them they have not been saved. They defy that one is saved by hearing, believing and obeying the gospel. In Jonah, the Ninevites were a totally spiritually depraved nation. Except they repent at the preaching of Gods word they would be lost. It would take a preacher named Jonah to bring them Gods word. When Jonah preached Gods word to them, they heard, believed and obeyed and were saved. No spiritual experience better felt than told. No supernatural occurrence of God performing a miracle before them. Just a simple sermon for them to hear, believe and obey. It should be very clear to us today that God who is the same yesterday, today and forever has similarly presented us with another lesson from Jonah that we should also hear, believe and obey. Our country would do well to forget about offending others such as the moslems, whose spiritual leader allegedly had a spiritual experience, or any other particular group. I hear others teaching strange doctrines inconsistent with the Bible and we need to ignore them and heed to doctrine of the Bible. The answer is to hear, believe and obey. It is time we listen to God and His Word before it is too late!
