Today, the Florida State University Faculty Senate UNANIMOUSLY passed the following resolution (introduced by... well, guess who!): Be it resolved that we, the members of the Florida State University Faculty Senate, having heard the candidates’ public interviews, enthusiastically recommend that the Presidential Search Advisory Committee forward Richard Marchase, Michael Martin, and Michele Wheatly to the Board of Trustees as candidates for President of FSU. Each of these candidates has long, distinguished, and varied national experience in academia, each has a track record of fundraising from both public and private sources, and each expressed a clear vision for how to advance FSU. We believe that they would be extraordinary leaders who would help move FSU forward into the highest national ranks of public universities.
