Today, the most unexpected thing happened in West bengal. A protest - TopicsExpress

Today, the most unexpected thing happened in West bengal. A protest march, consisting of only students and a handful of respected elders supporting JU students cause came up in full strength at mayo road, esplanade. Support strength is estimated to be around 70-90,000 students and obviously most of them are students of various colleges in our state. I personally interacted with a group who are studying in an engineering college in hooghly and came inspite of the inclement weather that we faced, to support the cause. In fact, this has become not only JUs cause, but has become a common cause for all the student community of west bengal- Chattra Samaj. This movement garnered steam without the support of any political entity neither any political party prevailed in the mass protest,a first of its kind since the Naxal days. Although we need more steam to carry the essence of this movement in the days to come, but we,the student community has improved by leaps and bounds!! Some people has even termed it the Tiananmen Square movement of West bengal..not going into the details,it is to thank the team of #Hokkolorob for their wonderful effort in gathering support of the students through facebook. And also i am thankful to some of my friends who came as i just asked them to join, stood with me in this incessant rain and marched together..feeling really proud that i have contributed a part in the movement, however small it may be.. P.S- I am not a leader or anything, just spoke what my wanted to say without fear.. #Hokkolorob #SachhaAamAdmi
